The joy of watching a gradient flow from colour to colour as you knit row by row is an experience like none other! Without pesky knots and joins, your next knit will be a breeze with this colour shifting yarn.

Using a circular knitting machine, I held two strands of Squishy Sock Base together to create a special yarn blank for this gradient dyeing technique. Because the finished sock blank is a little tighter than my typical one stranded gradients, there is a gentle dapple effect of colour throughout the yarn. I find once it’s knit up, you get a fabulous heathered effect, bringing the cosy factor up a notch! 

*This set turned out slightly off, weight wise. One skein is 48 grams, and the other is 50 grams. While the colours should align almost perfectly, I’ve discounted this set to make up for the lighter skein!*

You'll receive two identical mini skeins, with the perfect amount of yardage for your next sock project! Each skein is 50 grams and 200 yards of fingering weight yarn, with two together coming to 100 grams and 400 yards in total. *one skein will be a little less than 200 yards with this set*

I’ve included a photo of the socks I knit up using these same style gradients! I like to use one end of the skein as an afterthought heel, although you can certainly use another colour entirely or knit through the mini skein from one end to the other! 

Squishy Sock Base is a great choice for sock knitting, as it's a sturdy and reliable blend of 80% Superwash Merino Wool and 20% Nylon. It's plump, 8ply make up gives it an extra squish factor, while remaining soft yet durable for items that are meant for every day wash and wear.

I always recommend hand washing your items, and laying them flat to dry. Although the superwash treatment of this yarn is extra forgiving of the odd spin cycle or two. 

I always try to take photos that best represent the colours, although there maybe discrepancies from one monitor to the next while browsing the photos.
