This old bit was possibly made by a local blacksmith
The straight mouthpiece is square in section with twisted parts.
It has two sets of bit rings, the inner pair of rings are connected via "S" hooks to another pair of rings.
Presumably the upper hanging rings could be detached from hooks on the bridle, making this a watering bit.
It was probably used on a dray or farm horse.
One of the snaffle rein rings is quite worn.
There are no identifying marks.
