A single stirrup. This is hand wrought in steel.
It is much heavier in construction than other cavalry stirrups I have seen - it is probably earlier, late 18th or very early 19th century.
The stirrup is of hussar or cradle pattern. The steel has a fantastic old patina. There are no marks or stamps visible.
One arm of the arch has two slots in it, passing in different directions - the straps of a lance bucket would have passed through these.
