The iconic, highly demanded English Electric Class 37 returns for the TT:120 April 2026 range launch. Including all the same great features presented on the releases late last year, such as working lights, weighty die-cast chassis, and optional bodyshells depending on subclass, the ‘tractor’ is a must have for any TT:120 layout. This Class 37 model locomotive represents No.37254 ‘Driver Robin Price M.B.E’ in retro BR InterCity Swallow livery.
This locomotive was built by English Electric at its Vulcan Works near Newton-le-Willows, Lancashire, in 1964 and entered traffic on 5th January 1965 as D6954. Renumbered 37254 under TOPS in April 1974, it was eventually named ‘Cardiff Canton’ in recognition of its long association with the depot. Following withdrawal in 1999, it was bought and restored by members of the 37254 Locomotive Group at the Spa Valley Railway.
It was painted in retro InterCity ‘Swallow’ livery and given red ‘Driver Robin Prince M.B.E.’ nameplates in 2013, the condition in which the model is presented. It has since returned to the main line and is currently operational with Colas Rail.
