Can I paint these, or do they come finished?

They arrive ready to install as-is. If you want a different color or finish, light sanding and standard automotive paint will work on the hard panel surface.

Will these support my weight when I'm stepping up into the cab?

These are designed for occasional use during entry—not as permanent foot pegs or weight-bearing steps. Use them to help pull yourself up, but don't stand on them for extended periods.
