Does this need a clear coat, or does it come finished?

Will the carbon weave pattern fade or turn yellow in the sun?

Bare carbon fiber will yellow under prolonged UV exposure without protection. Applying a quality clear coat immediately after installation preserves the weave color and adds a protective barrier. This also gives you control over the finish — matte or glossy — based on your clear coat choice.

Do I need to seal the edges where the carbon meets the hinges?

The edges should be sealed before installation to prevent moisture and debris from entering the weave layers. Light sanding followed by a coat of clear or epoxy resin on the perimeter is standard practice. This step protects the structural integrity of the panel and prevents delamination.
