Product Description: This strand features a mix of Chevron beads from various eras, meticulously designed to complement each other. Each bead is a testament to centuries of Venetian artistry, making this piece a unique addition to any collection.
Chevron beads, also known as Star Beads or Rosetta, were invented in the late 1400s by Maria Barovier on the island of Murano, Italy. While Venetian bead techniques are adaptations of ancient methods, Chevron beads are a purely Venetian innovation. Up to ten layers have been discovered, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black variants are rare. The technique later spread to the Netherlands. The word "Chevron" means a V-shaped pattern.
