Targhee is a welcome addition to the spinning fibre selection here at Hidden Pond Yarns! Someone once said, 'Targhee simply WANTS to be yarn', and I find that to be so well put. A joy to spin, this fibre has a great grip to it, as well as a long staple length, making it less slippery to draft with than Merino can be. It's an untreated fibre, but still takes the dyes up in a bold and striking way. Some colour run off in the first few washes isn't uncommon, although I try my hardest to make sure all the acid dyes are set well and rinsed out properly. 

While I find this fibre to be soft enough for 'next to skin wear', some may find Targhee to be lightly more rustic than Merino. I love the bounciness and fullness of this fibre, I find the yarn I have been able to spin with this combed top to be nice and plump. 

This base is good for felting, but if you are not intending to felt your project, you'll want to be mindful when washing this yarn. Cold water, gentle hand wash only, and always lay flat to dry
