Well, to say just psychedelic pop is to pigeonhole it unfairly. There's a lot of variety here once you drill down into it: The Revolution of Super Visions is a throwback to Eno-era Roxy music, Stages of Phases sits somewhere between Lonerism-era Tame Impala and Goldfrapp's better moments, the weird funk flourishes of Pyramid Schemes really hit the spot and the closing track, Solarised is a hidden synth pop classic. And everything is executed with confidence and panache.
